A home away from home, nestled in the heart of the city yet wrapped in greens, this residence drifts gently away from the urban bustle into a realm of calm repose. Conceived as a serene weekend retreat, the design draws from the stillness of the desert and the timeless grandeur of Jodhpur’s stone architecture.
A Renovation that Kept Memories Intact
Emerging from an existing arched gateway and two inherited rooms, the new architecture weaves seamlessly with the old, retaining the original stonework in its enduring glory while mindfully extending it in a harmonious language. Built entirely in locally quarried red sandstone, the structure embodies quiet luxury and regional identity — where tradition and modernity coalesce in poised balance.
On the other note, inspired by the haveli typology, the design reinterprets its rhythm of arches, jharokhas, and chhatris in measured symmetry. Deep verandas and shaded corridors mediate the desert sun, orchestrating a poetic interplay of light and shadow that animates the façade throughout the day.
