The Design Unfiltered Conclave (Jodhpur Edition), held in November at Taj Hari Mahal, brought together leading architects, designers, and industry experts for a dynamic exchange of ideas and recognition of excellence in architecture and interior design. The event created a vibrant platform for the design community to discuss innovation, evolving materials, and the future of architectural practice while celebrating outstanding projects from across the region.
The conclave was curated by Ashfaq Mukadam (Ashfaq Mukadam & Associates) and Mahesh Khatri (Neev Architect), whose vision was to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration within the design fraternity. The awards and competition segment was curated by Kushagra Kothari of Vivitusu Design, ensuring a transparent process to honour exceptional design work.
A highlight of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Anu Mridul (A. Mridul Architect) for his significant contributions to architecture. The Masterstroke Award was conferred upon Rajesh Bohra (Raj and Associates) in recognition of his impactful design practice and influence on the built environment.
One of the most engaging sessions, Material Matters, explored the role of evolving materials in shaping contemporary architecture and interiors. Moderated by Tanuj Kulharia (An Urban Identity Design Studio), the panel featured Mahendra Sethi (Shilpy Architects & Consultants), Amit Sankhla (Architects GM), Ravi Jain (Ravi and Nupur Architects), Vipul Bharti (Maa Architects & Interiors), Vikram Singh (Singh Designers), and Bhoomika Choudhary (Aayat Designs). The discussion focused on sustainability, material innovation, and the integration of technology in modern design.
The event also featured a keynote address by Manu Malhotra, Principal Architect at IDC, who shared insights on the evolving role of architects in designing healthcare environments, highlighting the importance of contextual sensitivity, innovation, and responsible design practices.
Another major highlight was the panel discussion “Unfiltered Dialogue: Hustle Culture vs The New Design Ethos,” led by Priyanka Arjun (Priyanka Arjun and Associates). The panel included Ravi Dhoot (DNA – The Dhoot’s Nirmaan Associates), Diwakar Bhati (Diwakar Bhati Architects), Gaurav Khatri (Vaastu Vriksha), Agni Pratap Singh Rathore (Arclite Design Estate), Kavya Sahgal (Kavya Sahgal Architects), and Parisha Chauhan (Blue Coral Design Studio). The conversation explored changing work cultures in architecture and emphasized the need for balance, creativity, and sustainable professional practices.
The conclave also celebrated outstanding design achievements, receiving 125+ project entries across categories. Award winners included Dhirendra Singh (Residential Interior), Gaurav Khatri (Residential Architecture), Vikram Singh (Hospitality Interior), Amit Sankhla (Hospitality Architecture), Diwakar Bhati (Weekend Homes), Harshita & Ankush Lodha (Cafés/Bars/Lounges), Vasim Khan Moyal (Institutional), Mahesh Khatri (Retail), and Parisha Chauhan (Commercial Interior).
